(2010 – 2013)

A joint project of the Małopolska Voivodeship and thirty-five museums in the region, including the National Museum in Krakow, carried out thanks to the European Union funds under the Małopolska Regional Operational Programme for the years 2007-2013

The aim of the project was to create a digital platform for an online presentation of historical works of art stored in the collections of forty Małopolska museums.

In its online showroom, the National Museum in Krakow displayed 30 objects which are representative of the diverse and impressive collections presented in the museum galleries. These include sculptures, decorative arts, militaria, numismatics, clothing as well as archaeological exhibits and art from the Far East.

The exhibits were photographed using the three-dimensional (3D) technique, which allows for achieving the effect of image depth on the computer screen. The virtual gallery visitors will be able to see the presented exhibits almost as precisely as during a visit to the Museum. Each three-dimensional image is accompanied by a commentary referring to the viewed object.
